As Individual and Unique

Shopping and services also set Lakewood Ranch apart. Several shopping centers provide residents with all the day-to-day conveniences needed for a stress-free life. And so much more is on the way. In the months and years ahead, Lakewood Ranch will become one of Florida’s premier upscale shopping destinations.

Market Square on University Parkway and Gateway North on State Road 64 create the backbone for the goods and services at this rapidly growing community. Both shopping centers are anchored by Publix supermarkets, and feature a variety of smaller retail shops and service providers. Everything from groceries to flowers, to dining and beauty needs are waiting for you.

Smaller retail centers can also be found scattered throughout the Ranch, including Lane Plaza and the Courtyards at Market Square.

Luxuries, as well as all the necessities, will excite the most sophisticated buyers as they browse the many shops along the main thoroughfare planned along a lakefront Main Street. Smaller boutique-style stores will supply temptations galore as visitors and residents enjoy a relaxing stroll through the latest retail enticements.

The financial Center already features banks, as well as insurance companies and other offices.

Manatee Healthcare System opened a 120-bed hospital in September 2004. The acute-care hospital has emergency services, intensive care, same-day surgery, in-patient surgery, and a women’s care center, as well as medical offices and a diagnostic center.

As Lakewood Ranch continues to grow, so will the shopping and services, to continue to meet the needs of Florida’s best new town.

Main Street Shops

The mile-long Lake Uihlein will soon be the backdrop of an upscale shopping and dining scene that is sure to draw customers from near and far. Boutique-style stores and upscale restaurants will border a tree-lined promenade that leads to a bandstand park designed for picnics, art shows and outdoor concerts. This destination-style shopping attraction will be upscale by the nature of its goods but hometown in feeling. Construction began in summer 2004, with completion expected in late 2005.

Lakewood Ranch Town Hall

The Town Hall is our own 9,215-square-foot, quasi-governmental building that opened for business on August 30, 2004.  The vision for Town Hall is to be the "heart and soul for a community with heart and soul".  It is designed to hold governance meetings, community activities and club meetings.  The official opening was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 9, 2004.

The Market Square

Town Center's Market Square features an open mall anchored by a uniquely designed Publix Super Market and a combination of adjoining retail shops and restaurants. These stores offer a combination of goods and services that enhance the living or working lifestyle at Lakewood Ranch.

The Financial Park at Lakewood Ranch

Financial Park is home to a variety of professional offices that serve the residents and areas adjoining the Lakewood Ranch region. Financial consultants, banks,  attorneys and insurance firms are among the growing number of tenants that have selected this location for their growing businesses and professional practices.

The Medical Campus at Lakewood Ranch

Lakewood Ranch is committed to providing residents with all the components of a healthy, happy life. That's why medical needs are a big part of the plan. A 30-acre Lakewood Ranch Medical Campus, developed by Universal Health Services and Manatee Memorial Hospital, provides  families with a wide range of medical services. Residents need not travel far to find a top physician and receive the care they deserve

In September 2004, Manatee Memorial Hospital opened a 120-bed acute-care hospital, complete with emergency care, outpatient services and a woman's center. Adjacent to the hospital is a 60,000 square-foot medical office building, which houses physician offices as well as diagnostic and laboratory facilities. The facility includes obstetricians, internal medicine doctors, a cardiologist, and more.

The Summerfield Neighborhood Center
at Lakewood Ranch

This will be the first of a number of planned neighborhood shops that will bring enhanced conveniences to the residents of Lakewood Ranch. Located at the SR70 entrance to Lakewood Ranch, these retail stores are on the way to and from the neighborhoods of Summerfield and offer residents an opportunity to make a quick stop without ever leaving their new Florida Town.
